Primary Audience: 13: Junior High, High School, College and Individual Adults Resource Centers have two important functions.

First, they are places where guests can come with their own projects in mind.

You must sign up to be a CREATE Pass Holder to use the equipment.

Secondly, there will be staff led workshops ranging for beginnersafety, intermediate and advanced.

Because of the tools found here, the Resource Centers have particular operational considerations that differ from the Challenge Spaces.

Entrance and use of the Resource Centers will be controlled and all guests must sign a waiver of liability.

Only guests 13 and older are allowed access to equipment in these areas.

Anyone between the ages of 1317 must be accompanied by an adult.

All guests must take an introductorysafety class in order to sign up for intermediate or advanced workshops, andor to use the equipment for individual projects.

All guests are required to take an introductorysafety class and sign a Waiver and Release of Liability prior to taking an intermediate or advanced class.

Students 13 are allowed to use equipment in these areas once training has been completed.

Guests get concrete, hands-on experience with using a drill press, bandsaw, belt, and disk sanders while building a small wooden shelf.

Learn to make mitered cuts, curved cuts, smooth edges, and drill holes.

Safety glasses, short sleeves, and closed-toed shoes are required.

Upon completion of this class, pass-holders will be able to reserve and use the Shopbot for individual projects.

This course covers basic safety, machine terminology, approved materials, basic start-upshut-down procedure, loading a design into VCarve Pro software, and customizing and fabricating a design.
